I’m glad it went down like this and the victim didn’t get prosecuted. There was only a few seconds between when the driver was fighting for his life with an armed assailant and him running him over., and takes a moment to turn off fight mode.

No, the guy in the car had no legal right to drive after the perp and run him down! He wasn't in danger and he could have just driven off. Can't believe he wasn't charged with something! Although it was ironic that the perp wound up shooting himself in the head! No loss there. 👍😲

Mixed feelings, and I would say that he should have evaded in the car in reverse, but the threat still stands. If the gunner had been able to get in the getaway car, then ramming is a no go absolutely, but he could have turned and started to fire at any moment after seeing the getaway car bail on him, so he deserved to get hit. But, a court will see that the driver had been faced with two choices- Run or ram. San Diego will likely not support the latter.

why is this even a question??? Literally get robbed at gunpoint and you defend yourself. The threat was never over until the suspect was down.
The jerk still had his weapon and could have turned around and shot at the victim. He was still a deadly threat and the driver was justified in running him over. No jury would find the driver guilty of a crime.

I don't see the DA having any motivation to prosecute the defenders, this guy was in the middle of an assault and felony robbery, sorry it went sideways for the perp, but meh, not really seeing much of an issue here, except for needing an alignment maybe some ball joints on his car.
