    I’m an Uber driver…

You should do a video on how one should defend their self if someone in the back seat tries to mug you.

Cool video. I actually was doing the footwork in my streetfighting days without realizing I was doing it. Watching you do it reminded me of that.

Thnx. I really try to avoid a knife fight at all costs, because there is a good chance I will get cut. Many years ago, I trained with Steve Tarani, SouthNarc and Ernie Emerson. An edge weapon can be very deadly to encounter. Even with a holstered weapon, you need to mantain a 21 ft. distance and practice the 'Tueller Drill' created by Dennis Tueller.

Where do I get one of those knives you are using? I’ve been wanting to train on my knife defense and attacks.

Would I be better off without a knife? Then I can parry and trap with either hand and counter with the other as the opponent’s knife may change from one hand to the other. This assumes a certain skill level, but does it make sense?

Stabing is more lethal, but slashing should have more stoping power. Hover at least this info is from sword fighting and question is if the short blade of modern knife have this ability. Logic is with severed tendents and muscel you will survive, but can not move, but stab will penetrate depper to vital organ, but you as attacker have few more moment to continue the attack.

Thank you. I never thought of the footwork in a V or W fashion. Great tip! Q: In your training and teaching, where and when do you introduce the defanging of the snake, if any?

Your last point of understanding the attacker’s mindset is so crucial.
I often see people train with other trained people, and their fighting style and defense will be based on that.
And those people may expect an attacker to perform in the manners they trained for. But most attackers have little to no training at all. And their style, or lack there of, would catch trained people off guard.
We have to keep that in mind as we train. And I find it helps training with unexperienced friends very helpful to get a better idea of what an average person might do.
