Before John’s analysis: defender draws at a good moment, which is tough since he is seated and the attacker has a drawn gun already, but then fires ONCE!?!?!? Put two rounds in IMMEDIATELY and the fight is probably over THEN AND THERE, vis-a-vis attacker one. And since these thugs, as John always says, “are not looking for a fight but a victim,” the accomplice will likely run off. But the fight STOPPER must be made.
Before I hear John’s analysis:
He endangered himself as well as his lady friend and others in the vicinity. It is pure luck that his shots did not hit anyone else especially the two passerby on the right. Also lucky the robber’s return fire did not hit anyone. Just give him the damn money.
It wouldn't work for appendix carry because he wouldn't be reaching behind himself like he did.

Thought it was illegal to carry a gun in Mexico.
Back pocket carry is typically slow to deploy, but it's good fot, "Gimme your wallet."
Let me give you my wallet. Oh no its a gun.
I hate giving ammo away like that, in this day and age, part of their sentience should be they have to replace the ammo you had to spend.
What's really scary is the innocent people around and even stores.
We are responsible for every round fired. Even though the bad guy isn't.
Fortunately no bystander was hit. Two girls were on the scene that could have gotten hit.
That's why it's important to train from various positions, dry firing first, so you know what you can and can't do.
I really enjoy these video's. Very educational.
This happened in Mexico City, near My city (even the cynical mugger that got shot stated he was selling jelly and were a victim of the shooting), another thing to consider is the two bystanders girls that are passing by just when the shooting starts and behind the criminals, due they are just in front of the gun cannon, so it is important to be very careful when starting the shooting with possible third party persons that might be on the way.
Unfortunatetly it is very dificult to get gun licences here in Mexico (You might need to be militar, police, bodyguard, or high perfil person), even if you get a gun for your Home You cannot get it out from it once You get Home, and it cannot be loaded when transporting it (as well You need permission for transportation) at the same time that the criminal stadistics are high, even the police and military can get in trouble if they decide to shot the criminal because some illogical "human rights" to people that ironically are a menace to the lifes of the rest of people (like using certain calibers, or shooting an armed criminal from the back, or if there was not shot yet from the criminal, or if the weapon was not out even if it was on sight).
Here We call these persons: "anonymus vigilantes", and there is some non written rules if an "anonymus vigilante" attacks and finnish with a mugger "no one saw him clear", "no one can recognize him", "no one knows where he went and how he was", we are really fed up of criminals, I hope goverment allow us the rights to defend ourselves and to work for it and be a part of the change, and to show the criminals the only reason they are powerful is because we are not able to legally defend us yet.
