So I bought my 82-year-old dad a 5,000,000 V stun gun at a smoke shop and I bought it because he walks the dog on a walk trail and there’s a particular man about 50 that has made some comments to my dad in a threatening manner He was gonna call the cops but before the cops could get there the damage will already be done, he would already been beat up maybe. He’s 82 but he’s still very tough. He did carpentry/ framing houses, his whole life . Apparently that stun gun that I bought isn’t gonna do much to the person making the threats so my dad wants to start carrying his gun with him. Iam a big time second amendment supporter but I said don’t do that don’t bring your gun, because he is 82 and I’m afraid his cognitive ability might over react causing him to fire a round and that would not be good . What can my dad get to use besides a gun for self-defense or deterrence? Wisconsin state
Yeah it's all about the current the truth is there's no four million volts they can't produce that much voltage and they don't need to a couple of hundred thousand volts of static with the right amount of amperage will do the job especially if you stick it on the side of their neck, under the chin, larynx, left side of the sternum then under the right circumstances the groin. It distracts him enough that you can come with the barrage and the head butt and take them out

If you want to compare it to the police tazer – keep this stun gun pressed for 5 seconds. You let go after first bite. Your body will spazm and you'll go down.
Those stun guns are perfect for disabling somebody's body when you are arresting them, got them on the ground. More than couple seconds will induce serious shock.
