NEW PERSONAL BEST: Feed The Ego Drill!
Congratulations to Tim Bacchus for breaking the 1 second barrier!
Kit Used: Sig P320 9mm, Appendix Carry, Harry’s Holsters, Lucky Brand Jeans & NFQ T-shirt company for keeping him cool under pressure.
Tim, now that you have a baseline time, challenge yourself by adding 1 new difficulty at a time while maintaining your new time record. Start with your hands held high in a defensive position, then increase the distance to the target, then decrease the size of the vitals, then add movement. Occasionally return to the original drill to get a new baseline and start again! Before you know it, you’ll break the .75 barrier.
PARAMETERS: Start with a holstered firearm concealed in your preferred carry position. Select a self defense target to train your eyes to aim for vitals. Move to a distance of your double arm’s length away from your target. This places most people within 5 to 6 feet. Arms and hands are relaxed at you side, do not cheat and hold your shirt. Draw on the buzzer, only record shots in the vitals. If needed you can rent several types of shot clocks and our RSOs and Instructors can help you as needed.
NOTE: This drill was intended to give you a baseline time for practicing drills that involve drawing from a concealed holster. This is not a tactical drill, hence the name of the drill, it is only intended to give you a time to beat!
DISCLAIMER: Only attempt this drill after you have full understanding of the draw and the associated risks that come with it. Start smooth, remove inefficient movements, develop proper neural pathways, only push yourself at a controlled speed! If you need help, we have RSOs in every bay to assist you and our Instructors/Coaches can provide private or group lessons.
