Mostly ducking the reach will get you to win Shorter people have the advantage if they duck low out of reach and counter attack

I always used to find this approach with it's weight in gold when sparring tall people with loads of reach. Close the gap, get under their jab, take your pick of liver, kidney or underside of jaw using your thighs to drive up and create power. Gotta keep those ear guards up though after a while even the low power blows will wear you down if they land. If you're a southpaw you'll be able to slip to the outside and potentially get an opportunity for the side of the head, but it's risky.

Every single one of those slips of the punches the smaller man is doing needs to be followed up with devastating body shots and a MASSIVE upper cut. I understand the concept here-however, the smaller man should have connected at least 5-6 body shots and the finished with an upper cut, then lead off with the jab.

I'm tall but arms are kinda short. I have to get close I can't fight with reach. I do shield blocking and clinch too

And it does kind of throw off the big guy's attack the closer you stay to him but usually the big guys they try to grab you and that's where your ground game comes in you have to find a way to keep them from grabbing you and putting you in a lock but when they have both hands around you there's only certain things they can do long as it's not around your neck or place was like that they have to use both hands to hold you

    Drill drill drill
    Tina the best way
The problem I have is when I spar and try the head movement against like minded people ie boxing
The first time I fight with a novice who doesn’t know the classic punches like jab cross etc
They throw randomly it’s much harder
This where just purely covering up is best option. And sensitivity in the arms

Best way to fight a taller person is to turn their reach into a disadvantage by getting close as possible to take away the power

So taller assailants are considerate enough to punch above a shorter person's head. Good to know.
