The blanket statement that the use of a "stun gun" justifies deadly force is irresponsible. It is on a case-by-case analysis of the circumstances. Is this a TASER that is capable of disabling you, leaving you helpless to defend yourself? Maybe that will justify deadly defensive force. Or is it one of those stupid 50,000 volt pain inducing "stun guns?" That causes pain only. Where is the reasonable belief of imminent death or serious physical harm? Look at the video again. He was not disabled. She'd turned and was walking away. This shooting was clearly not justified. He just got lucky with the prosecutor. I generally agree with the analysis on this channel, but this time, it missed the mark.
Everyone here is so stupid, sticking up for this guy. I can’t imagine killing my girlfriend even if she hit me. Unless I was truly in danger of dying. This guy could have walked away. He’s worse than this girl is. To be able to kill your own girlfriend when you know you can just walk away is brutal. People here don’t realize they’re cheering for some guy who is probably super crazy too. Once she turned her back and was running, he didn’t have to shoot her in the back.

If someone is assaulting you & you can’t immediately get out don’t tell people not to react. That’s like in school when they say if you get hit first and you hit back you’re in just as much trouble as the first offender. Always defend yourself, whether that means you think you have a quick escape or not. & if someone ends up dead, hopefully it’s the bad guy.

Murder. 100% murder. He shot her out of rage not fear – he’s got big shoulders, I’m positive he could have simply tackled her and knocked her out but no, she’s murdered and dead forever.
I actually don't believe this is a justified shooting. in my country the laws surrounding when to shoot someone is a lot more strict than in most US states. For one, i think that the attack is not imminent because by the time the gun is taken out the attacker is moving away/ turned away, which signals that their attack may be done (not imminent). furthermore the defender Is moving towards the attacker when shooting, not away as most self defenders would do. this, to me, displays a retributive posture (revenge shooting) which is not conducive to a self defence shooting. another thing is that the defender seems to have had a means to escape and in my country a self defence shooting has to be your last option, so if you can leave the situation you must do so. I do understand the gun laws in the usa are generally more lax so to them it may be justified, but in my country you could very well go to prison for a self defence shooting like this

I don't agree with the outcome of this incident! First of all, 5:00 am is not the time to get your stuff. When she slapped him in the head, he should have left and called police. But no, he conrinued to follow her and she used the brass knuckles/stun gun on him. Maybe she did cause she thought he was going to attack her! So then shoots her as she turned away. He might have brought the gun to use it on her regardless of what happened 1st degree murder? Was he legally able to own/carry the gun? Like I said, he could have walked away or even wrestled the knuckles away from her! She looked to be about 90lbs. and hes much bigger and stronger! I think he should have been charged. So sad. 😭

The victim could have easily left the scene and returned later with authorities to retrieve any belongings.

I don't see how this is justified. He had more than enough time and chances to leave. In a dangerous situation like this you should be obligated to leave if possible. By the look of things she wanted him gone but he kept following her. Yea her actions are also unjustified here but to say this shooting was necessary in my opinion is kinda silly. All he had to do was walk away. She even started walking away but he got closer. Wrong thing to do.
When you invited us to active self protection extra on Fridays it reminded me of that Tyler perry movie "confessions of a marriage counselor" when Judith mom was like "you don't even call for your morning prayer! You know all the sisters be on the line at 5am". Anyone who remembers is a legend.

I do not think that killing her was justified. He knows her, he knows the history in their relationship. She sees the gun and is walking away. He needs to walk away. This is murder, not self defense. Now he will have to live with what he did.
