I don't think people understand that in a real life situation like this where the assailant doesn't stand still and allow the demonstration to happen, it's your speed against his reflexes. And honestly even if he's only fast enough to move it slightly, it would probably be enough to throw off your attempt at grabbing the gun. A second later and boom… You're dead. Congratulations.
