Vortex has got a new pistol optic out and it is a BIG improvement over their other Pistol Optics. They are going after the RMR market with this thing. What do I mean? Well, everyone knows the industry standard for pistol optics is the “time proven” RMR by Trijicon. Vortex took all the great points of the RMR (rugged design, etc) and fixed all the weak points of the RMR; like having to remove the optic to swap batteries and a dim dot. Want to learn more? Go watch the video.

I also want to give a BIG “Shout out” to Shooting Targets USA for hooking us up with some great new steel for our Tactical Rifleman Range Complex. All their products are AWESOME and they are priced affordable. Plus, I hit them up for a “Promo Code” to save you even more…
Use TACTICALRIFLEMAN to save 25% off all their products. Seriously, you can’t beat that!!!

Would you choose the vortex defender over the holosun he507c-gr x2? For a range gun. Not edc.

Iโ€™d like the holosun 509 for my edc. Considering a H&K p30 LE or a HK VP9. Not 100% yet.

Crazy to hear what he said about the vortex razor line… Vortex Razor LPVOS have been seen downrange with DA special operators.

Battery life is sub par. Window size is nice, clear and larger than the Holosun. The parallax with this red dot is absolutely terrible which is why I could not use this nor recommend this reddot to anyone. The parallax has got to be the worst Iโ€™ve seen. Which is a shame because I wanted to like it, I prefer irons anyway.

Thank you Sir, I have several Vortex scopes on various weapons in my safe, very happy with those. I currently am running a ADE spike on my daily driver works but Oh boy is it not so great. I got a couple hundee gift cards for Xmas and I'm picking this bad boy up, its worth it to me just the battery change feature alone is a game changer for this price ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿค๐ŸŽ„

In my opinion, top accessable batteries are the future. They need to be the new standard, if you are making any optic that requires me to un-mount it from my gun and re-zero just to change a battery thats a deal breaker for me

WOW Carl!!!…. this whole video is just filled with bullshit!!! Haha ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚I always respected your opinion and referred a few your way when they had questions, after this I'm starting to rethink that Lol ANY steel company charging $100+ for a 6-inch hanging target should be ashamed of themselves!! What a joke, the rest of their products are even worst. I'm in Kentucky, the last target I bought was a 9X13 Silhouette, 3/8-inch think was $75 bucks!!! Identical EVERYTHING to shoot steels products! Then the optic…. why are you bullshitting people Carl!?? If this was $100 bucks or so and for a range toy, then YES!! It's amazing. FYI-If you carry this people, when you need it the most the battery will be dead and chances are so will you!! Wow Carl, just WOW!! Lol It hurt to watch this one man. Do your research people, you'll see EVERYTHING I said is true, if Carl doesn't block or erase this Haha God forbid people know the truth Lol

You didn't even add a link to the steel company Haha looks like nobody will be using that code unfortunately Lol now to watch the video, seconds in and it seems you're getting the first thumbs down I've ever given ya but will see haha EDIT-Now I see why, they're nothing but Highway robbers, pretending to be an honest company Haha After double checking, you can get the same plates from em for different prices, silhouettes that ONLY mount on their $300 dollar stand, there's more but I'm rambling now Lol do your research people!!!

Could you run this optic on a Beretta A300 ultima patrol 12 gauge home defense shotgun?

Vortex missed the mark Bigly with this. Battery life is dismal compared to the competition and sleep mode should have been 2-5 minutes.

Sits without a plate, and vortex has amazing service and a solid warrantee. Their stuff is great. I would easily take this over the Holosun. Although just as good, this one sits one the slide. Less to fail.

I'm old school in the sense that I rock iron sights on my handguns for conceal carry or home defense. Red dots for 3 gun or competition seems reasonable but honestly the last thing you should have to think about or worry about working is the electronic sight on a handgun. Same thing with all these tacti-cool guys that aren't actively in the military or police having a flashlight mounted on their conceal carry or open carry handguns because they see a bunch of youtubers promoting the high speed gear of the elite military groups. You should never be pointing a firearm at or around anyone and if a civilian does it and says I was just identifying or scanning for a threat you are going to jail in most cases. I carry a small streamlight micro for scanning/identifying if I need it.

The features that he described as high points are standard across the big players for micro red dots. He didn't talk about the glaring negatives that a lot of other reviewers have discussed. Not a great review here.
