If he is a big guy, he will have his big hands around your neck.
His mates or girlfriend will be on your back.

When you run away, do you take your wife/gf/child with you?

If you go to the ground, do you ever train on hard concrete, curb edges, street furniture and brick walls?

Pity you don't have a big guy to demonstrate on. I am 5'4", and I have NEVER had a smaller guy pick on me. Nearly always someone much larger, around 6 to 6'4". Therefore I see this video as not very realistic. People need to be shown how a much larger, stronger and even enraged man can be overcome and dealt with.

Bravo on the instruction!🙂 I would not want to fall down, even if skilled as you guys are. It seems you would open yourself up to being kicked by the attacker, or friends of the attacker? —Great lesson on how to properly fall, and QUICKLY get back up again. I would love to see a step by step lesson on how to fall and get back up again, directed for some of us older and aging folks. I am a recent subscriber.

This is very similar to the old jiu jitsu locked hands, inverted V-shaped forearm upward sweep…….followed by a downward strike on the nose (no need to pull back for a punch).

I think Kung Fu and Wing Chun have good methods to splitting arms coming to grab you.

I always say walk away if possible but if you can’t … well … it is what it is and at that point all etiquette goes out the window and brutality and violence are all I know. I’m not a tough guy but I won’t back down either and refuse to let someone know I’m afraid even if I’m scared out of my mind.

Good point about escalating too much/quickly. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
And glad to see your uke has his blue belt.
