Proper Shooter/Spotter Dialogue equate to time saved in competition and in combat. You and your buddy can be the two best shots on the range; however, if you can’t work together as a team, you’re going to get beat every time. Tactical Rifleman got two SOF Sniper instructors to demonstrate the current technique being taught in the school house. Learn from the pros, adjust it to meet your team’s requirement, practice till it’s second nature, and you’ll be a better shooting team.

Not sure if you guys read this but why is the shooter giving a mil reading? Is he milling the target as a final check that he is on the right target? Meaning if my target is 2 mils tall but the spotters is 1.6 mils, obviously wrong target?

Superb & Smooth. Here is another tip for military shooters for combat engagement. If engaging live tgt, make sure that after the shot the shooter continues to track the tgt if it moves through scope while spotter keeps his spotterscope where the shot was taken to calculate the required correction. But before calling out the correction, the spotter scope must be back of live tgt for further correction if required. Also, while selecting landmarks in day, make sure that they would also be recognisable at night using thermals by virtue of their uniqueness due to position in the landscape or shape etc. A sole colour based recognition of landmark during day would be near impossible to recognise at night specially in urban scenario where house density is high and construction of houses are not distinct like that in ghetto. Make a field sketch of the area with bearings of landmarks so that it can be easily identified and if possible, the thermal spotterscope should have bearing facility.

Why black out the eyes if you can easily tell exactly who it is? To look cool? Ignorance?
Awesome info though. Thanks for the video.

Super cool! Would love to understand how windage and elevation corrections are put in and then adjusted.. I have no idea how long range ballistics work.
