I recently started putting my car in reverse when im at the drive thru atm so I can use the backup camera as another way to see behind me. Doors locked, pistol in lap, checking mirrors constantly. This scenario would have set off my spidey senses for sure!

If someone comes up to me like this, would it be a good decision, to let them go into the car and then i shoot them, when i can draw freely and they are in this confined space of my car?

He was off loaded midway because they weren't narco / sicarios or else he would have been dead for sure. If these robbers are acting independently in the area governed by cartel, they will be dead too. Generally cartels are not in the business of stealing cars unless it's SUV.

I didn’t see any pre attack indication on this one, the guy didn’t see it coming at all like he never expected it. Neither did I, but yeah good eye 👁 opening.

While I generally agree with not allowing yourself to be taken to another location, let's acknowledge that in this case, the man fared at least as well by being taken away as he would have if he'd fought to stay. That's hindsight, I know, but I think all situations differ. And I do totally agree that this man was making himself as vulnerable as he possibly could have in a setting ripe for ambush. I've been in a couple of situations a lot like this (years before pay-at-the-pump), and I stayed in the store and talked to the clerk until the suspicious-looking folks that were watching me and my vehicle gave up and left (and I didn't have a nice vehicle like in this story). In this scenario, I would have loaded the water and then quietly but quickly tried to make my way back into the store.

I disagree with fully fighting back…if he attacks the guy with the gun he might get shot or the other 2 are going to come and help…i would be looking to break away…Hope they are not looking to pursue…

I went to the American School in the D.F. (Mexico City), escaped two kidnap attempts, first on Reforma in Las Lomas and the second in Satelite. Got stabbed left scapula in Satelite as I fought back and I ran away (lost my car), but I’m alive! Both multiple attackers. Fu#k Mexico!

In México, people who can afford a nice car, don’t go shopping for water. Most likely he was the driver or an employee. Probably that was the reason they let him go. They wouldn’t have the owner go without stopping at banks and/or requesting ransom money.
