Like mentioned he has no legal responsibility to protect those people. Unfortunately neither do the police.

Self protection is worthless if you cant hit what you are shooting at

People stand around because in the past we were taught to comply be passive. The bad guys had the upper hand . Easy targets. Not anymore. We all need to be prepared to fight for our lives and the lives of others. Train as if your life depends on it . Because it does!!

Let's see, Wisconsin actually issues CCWS. Doesn't have an illegal state approved gun list. Allows ammo to be shipped to your house, doesn't create never ending anti- Second Amendment laws forcing the closure of all gun stores and all gun ranges (San Francisco). Has one defensive gun use versus hundreds every year? I really need to move.

I'm not sure escalation a petty theft situation to a shootout in the store full of people is wise. So they loose a few hundred dollars.

The CCW guy didn’t have one in the pipe while carrying! That is why he missed the chance to lay him out. Must always keep one in the pipe! That split second could be life or death!!!

Video ably demonstrates why concealed carry is such a horrible idea. To think that random good guys with guns is going to make communities safer is folly. Here’s why.

If he took his wife to a safe place and only engaged if they were threatened, then maybe.
But what he did was to play untrained pretend cop by assaulting the armed robber. Clearly the robber could have returned fire and the good guy could easily have missed, as he did, resulting in potentially many people injured or killed. For what possible gain? To prevent a few $100 robbery?
This example of a so called good guy with a gun only tells me, no way I want to be there with pretend cop trying to be a hero. I would much rather take my chances with the armed robber who only wants his $ but mostly I want my health and life which has a lot more value.

I took my CC class from a police detective who made it very clear that those of us carrying legally have a duty to protect only our family and ourselves. This guy could have stayed back and the gunman likely would have left without shots fired. In his words, he said ‘don’t go looking for trouble.’

I love this guys presentation of the video. He breaks it down like a sports replay and review scenario. So that if it should happen to me, and I certainly hope it does not. This way I’m a little more prepared.

that ccw holder is a threat to everyone around him. looks to of had no training whatsoever. the purp was on his way out. and the ccw holder just stood there like he was indefensible taking a random shot, with a weapon he knew nothing about..

My biggest takeaway is the passivity and brain-fried 'reaction' of most of the customers. Like they don't even comprehend what is happening. IE the two people within arm's length of the perp with their backs to him who appear to be browsing some candy. WTF?

These days I think he should have run out the back door with his wife.
Doing the right thing is not appreciated, and in cases like this, it is often punished.

In 1980, in a big east coast city, I saw 5 black men beating a white guy to a pulp.
I stopped my Yamaha SR500 quickly and was about to pull a .22 revolver out of my pocket
when I noticed a cop car 30’ in front of me.
I yelled to the black cop, “Hey, do you see what they’re doing to that guy?”
He looked up from the ticket he was writing and said, “Yea, I’ll get there in a minute”.
I looked back as they continued to stomp on the white guy and I thought 2 things.
    1) Who’s to say he didn’t sell them bad drugs or rape one of their sisters?
    2) If the cop isn’t worried about it, he probably knows the score better than I do.
I kickstarted my bike and rode away.
After watching this video 43 years later, I realize that in 2023, I’d probably get arrested
for holding them at bay with an “unregistered” gun in a big Blue city.🤷🏼‍♂️

Or gotten myself pummeled because my North American Arms 5-shot .22 literally
    wouldn’t hit a male torso 3 outa 5 times at 15’😳

Here’s some thing you should learn – this armed citizen fired shots AFTER the threat was over and at a moving target WHO WAS LEAVING. Bad guy was on his way out of the store. Bad move tactically because he runs the risk of causing bad guy WHO WAS LEAVING to re-engage and hit bystanders. Look, if this guy couldn’t figure out how to drop his safety, he’s better off not making life and death decisions ESPECIALLY with my family’s life. After everyone patted him on the back I would have beat him senseless with my own concealed weapon. Heroes like this should not be encouraged. Think tactically or leave your gun at home. There are plenty of real heroes out there – this is NOT one of them.

Another assssssspect is where you carry… Wiisssssssss-con-son is very cold in the winter. this guy obviously had a heavy coat on… either take it off and leave it the car or on the cart… or get a under-arm holster to carry with your coat on

Not carrying a gun with a round in the chamber is downright nuts. Learn from this mistake! Manual safeties will get you killed! Unless you get to handle that gun over and over on how to disengage the safety manual when you are going to shoot, it has to become second nature, most civilians do not train enough. That is why most police departments carry weapons without a manual safety. If you do not want the gun to go off, keep your finger outside the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot, it is that simple!
