There are very important principles and techniques that need to be learned, refined and programmed into yourself before you are able to confidently and safely clear your home with a lethal tool! So, I suggest you seek training first and foremost before you end up in a situation like we presented here. If you find someone in your house that is not supposed to be in your house, at a minimum they are an intruder. Once we find the intruder, we need the ability to process whether or not they are a threat that warrants deadly force. Err on the side of being aggressive and gaining control quickly so that you hopefully provide yourself with the time to take the proper action as the situation continues to unfold.
Hopefully this video helps you to realize some of the many nuances and details that might need to be addressed in this type of volatile circumstance. We need as much good and reliable training programmed into our subconsciousness as we can get so that we are able to successfully implement the major tactics and still have the bandwidth to react to the unknowns.
It’s not enough to have a gun. We need a plan and we need the systems built into us that will help override the fear and instinct that we cannot control in moments like this!

In Mississippi we have castle law. You can kill anybody if they’ve broken into your house and the law will usually help drag em into the house if they managed to get out

My go to is is a semi shotty, with birdshot for the first three rounds. Why? I'm in an average American home, and I don't want over penetration and at a close range (a bedroom) I think it will do. After that, (if 3 doesn't convince them) there's buck. Again, I have to be alerted by the dogs, know where my family is, and go from there.

Me and my wife have real close quarters combat rifles above the head board ready to go and out of reach of little kids cuse our room stays locked during day and we also have real replicas of our home defense rifles in airsoft form so we can train for a introuder and it's fun cuse my 8 year old can participate and come clear the house with me or mom looking for the armed intruder to get him use to the procedure and if it happens for real he has a designated place to go to and hide that we made for him in his closet is basically his own little safe room and he is not to come out till he hears me and moms password and telling him it's ok to come out and don't come out no matter what he hears until we come to get him or until he hears the cops and there is a emergency land line phone in their for him to call 911 if me and mommy doesn't come back to get him in 30 minutes with a little timer in there that he is going to start for 30 mins then call 911 of we not back yet and on the wall is a script of what he needs to tell the 911 operator that he is in a little safe room in his closet mom and dad went to go secure the house of a introuder and it's been 30 minutes and have not heard from mom or dad yet and I'm not coming out till police come to get me so tell them where I'm at and then of course address and also states that mommy and daddy is armed but that's worse case scenario but if it's only one intruder and I'm already clearing the house and mom can get to his room safely she will go hide with him with her rifle. I'm ex marine so I have the training in clearing houses and this guy is showing you exactly how your supposed to handle this situation. I have cleared many houses in Afghanistan and Iraq but the scariest thing to me is finding a threat in my own house that wills care the crap out of me more then looking for bad guys in houses in Afghanistan cuse my family is now in danger and my adrenaline is already going and then the fear cuse it will startle you once you encounter them. I have a sure fire system knowing someone is in my house when we are sleeping cuse we have motion sensors by each door that is high enough so dogs don't set them off and my son don't set them off getting water and every window has alarms and glass breaking alarms as well if window gets broke that will sound alarm to so if alarm goes off I'm arming my self so that way I don't have to go arm my self and search house for every little bump in the night be my son getting water or a drink and bunp into something or the dog so I don't point a gun around loaded looking and my son sees it and gets scared. I only arm my self if alarm goes off with my close quarters combat rifle and not my hand gun

Great video on room clearing. Now let’s say there is multiple intruders with weapons charging through your front door without warning. I know the tunnel of death for them coming through a front door, but how would you counter a full front door breach without warning? I know I have my pistol on my hip at all times at home with an extra mag. Also on that. How would you fight your way to your rifle to confront multiple targets.
If you’re standing in the door way addressing the intruder, let’s say his buddy was in another room now he has the drop on you from behind.. Any tips on that if you find a threat in a room but didn’t get to the rest of the house?

If the person is in the room and it has no exits and assuming there is no one but the bad guy in the room it would be way easier for an untrained person to set up outside call 911 and when they come out you can confront them
