When anyone you don't know that isn't an obvious police officers and haven't presented themselves as such tries to forcibly enter your vehicle, it's time to stop thinking and start acting to make yourself safer. In worst case they could be armed and shoot you during their carjacking, and any distance you can gain in the shortest possible time will greatly negate that risk. Your vehicle can't only be your best weapon when operated, but also your greatest means of escaping almost any danger zone.

I've begun locking my doors in parking lots now! They automatically lock at 5mph but don't lock sitting there or when I have a door open.

I've seen it alot where people pump their gas, get in the car and instead of driving away, they sit there and play with their phones for a bit. It's like they can't live without playing with their phone all the time, even when driving.

2) Start the engine
3) Put it in drive
4) Seatbelt
