This happened to a guy I worked with. I've trained in self defence & martial arts for over a decade and was discussing situational awareness. He was one of those guys that never took anything seriously. Makes everything a joke. Well a couple weeks later he was off work for a whole week. When he came back he had a lined scab on his nose. He told me he was on his phone 9pm in town and next thing he knew he was waking up to medical personal. He'd been ambushed and knocked out cold. Glad he's ok. Hopefully he learned from that situation. Don't make yourself an easy target. Also don't be paranoid but switched on. A good references is Coopers threat analysis.

I generally stay out of Seattle. Used to go a lot 15 years ago or so. Now days, nope. It's a mad house down there. Petty crime, thieves, assaults, crazy people and the police are hemorrhaging cops faster than they can replace them and are actively being dedunded.
