The 2nd guy/criminal did get shot and he didn't run away. You see him crawl after being shot. Then at the end of the video you see the 2nd criminal's feet on the ground laying there.

How is this a question? It was armed robbery with a deadly weapon. I don't care that he shot the second running away. Would that second assailant not be charged in the same crime? Just
    my opinion…

Absolutely justified….The officer didn't know what they had, or how much backup they had….he was forced to take them both out in the totality of details as he was aware of them…👷🙋🕵

Watching this over again after having seen it all and heard/read the arguments for or against the second guy being shot, I have to say that I believe he was justified in shooting both of them. If you watch just the second perp and watch how he moves depending on what perp #1 is doing, he is most certainly putting himself in a position to finish what they started….until it starts to look like the good guy is getting the upper hand, and he starts to step away. When perp #1 swings that knife at the good guy again, perp #2 steps back up to the plate. He is acting in concert and you should assume that if one of them is armed then both of them are armed. Perp #1 used deadly force, that means perp #2 is also going to use deadly force. He is not just an innocent bystander trying to get a referee's view to be the best eye witness. He's gauging whether or not he needs to step in or if perp #1 has it handled. It wasn't until perp #1 accepted such a thoughtful gift from the good guy that he fully committed to making like a tree. "Through 'acting in concert,' a person can face the entirety of the legal consequences of a crime that they only had a small part in." I have to believe that they should also face the entirety of the consequences that come from someone defending their life against the threat that is not in dispute.

It was justified. He had every right to shoot the second guy. These 2 guys are a couple o low lifes going around robbing people. Maybe the next person they rob, they kill that victim. Its too bad the second guy got away, he should have joined his buddy.

For all that cop knew the second guy he shot may have had no idea his friend was planning to rob that guy for his phone. It looked like he was in no way, shape, or form trying to involve himself in that and was trying to keep his distance and as a reward got a bullet in his guts anyway. That cop should be charged, for shooting the fleeing guy.

  28. @hiltonlive32grnrngr says:

Was he justified to shoot the first guy who held him at knifepoint? ABSOLUTELY! Without question, yes! But was he justified to shoot the other guy? No. THAT second shot was unjustified, considering he was nowhere near him and was running away from him at the time. Remember people, whether you're law enforcement or a CCW holder in general, YOUR FIREARM IS A SELF-DEFENSE TOOL, NOT A PUNISHING TOOL, AND IT SHOULD BE TREATED AS SUCH (for self-defense only that is).

At first I thought this was obviously okay. Upon going back and watching this several times, I’m not as sure. No indication of a firearm on the second guy and he had taken 3 full steps running away before he got shot. I guess a defense could be that there was a single threat and the shots were fired within a second or so of each other. It was a reflex to eliminate the threat. That’s a somewhat reasonable defense. But still, I think this one is borderline, and the more I watch, the more I lean toward unjustified – especially for a cop who you’d hope would have better discipline. That guy was pretty clearly running off for the hills.

Personally I don't see a problem with either bad guy being shot. They both were willing to victimize people…

Legally I could see the second bad guy being shot as being a problem. But that's based on this camera angle.

For all we know, bad guy 2 had a gun in his right hand and was aiming across his body as he runs away at an angle, where he is still looking towards the good guy…

It's hypothetical. We weren't there and so from this angle it looks like bad guy 2 might be a bad shoot, legally… 🤷🏻‍♂️

They need DA's like the ones in America. Even Internal Affairs would have stuck up for the officer here in America. And they claim to have corrupt cops in this country that this occurred in?? Whose got the corruption going on? Unfortunately it's right here at home in the U.S.A.

Idk. I feel like both of them were a threat. It was a meditated assault and he only chose to turn and run after the fact. But who is to tell wether or not he would come back to help his friend.

Both of them acted on a negative impulse to break the law, both of them have a violent resolve so there is no sympathy for either. People like them are better in fewer numbers.

Eh less scum off the street. People need to quit with the oh it was bad. Criminals are bad, kill them and the world is safer. Kind of simple, it’s just the yokels who think too much who make it harder for us law abiding citizens to be safe. Kill all criminals, execute them on the spot, send a message to other criminals that the same will be done to you. You might just see a major decrease in crime

Justified. He knew there were at least two attackers and that at least one of them was armed with at least a knife. He didn't know how many people there were, he didn't know if first guy had more than a knife, and he didn't know if second dude had a knife or something else on his person. Two against one, bad odds for the one. And even if neither had a knife, if they started beating on him or something else, he still would have been justified because he was outnumbered and people can kill people with their bare hands.
