Brazilians are constantly being held up and traumatized by "Favela gangs". Legions of oppressed young men who grow up in ghettos with no chance of ever making a dignified future for themselves. These kids join drug gangs as their only chance to have any kind of real money to get a squat home and attract a woman to have a family. Every Brazilian I met had a story to tell of being held up at gun point or their family home invaded with gun wielding thugs. All this comes from an Oligarchical oppression on the underclass of Brazil that forces many people to be imprisoned in land squats fighting for jobs that do not pay a livable wage and yet not provide the people with any means to improve their education or opportunities in life. Violent crime; violent crime; violent crime. Racism, classism, oppression and exploitation all enslaved to serve an Oligarchy. The formula of poverty, oppression and violence is the same all around the world. The solution is easy; give Equal opportunity to all people of your Nation by providing equal access to all levels of skill development and self improvement/education. It is a question of human consciousness evolution.
