Tactical Rifleman tries to bring our viewers a wide variety of information about subjects dear to our hearts… which is mostly things that go bang or boom. We have recently done a couple of weeks of new weapons, like the Army’s new pistol. So, this week, we wanted to change it up a bit. So, we are going to jump backwards in time and talk about our old reliable DMV (Desert Mobility Vehicle) and all the modifications that have been made along the way. First, we needed a HUMMER with most of the current modifications on it…
We went down to Military Systems Group, in Nashville, to check out some of their new toys and some of their old toys. MSG has been providing vehicle modifications and accessories to our military forces for as long as I can remember. I ran vehicles with their gear in Afghanistan. I ran vehicles with their gear in Iraq, and some of their latest gear can be found in just about every little hot spot on the planet.
In this week’s video Jay Johnson takes us through MSG’s Hummer, and talks in detail about all the mods currently available. Jay and I go way back; he was on my first A-Team close to a hundred years ago. When I moved on to the CIF Company; Jay moved on to specialize in Desert Mobility. If you want to talk tactical vehicle operations in the desert, you talk to Jay Johnson.
Jay and I get nostalgic a couple times during the filming of this video, and we wanted to go down the rabbit hole telling war stories; but we held back. Good thing, because this video is almost 48 hours long!!! Well, not that long, but it is still the longest Tactical Rifleman video to date.
We cover everything from bumpers to Swing-Arms to Barrett .50cal mounts. So, if you like military gear, or you want ideas for that Jeep Rockcrawler, please enjoy the video. Thanks for Watching. Strength & Honor, TR.

That is some crazy technology
Manufacturer: How many weapons do you want to mount to the truck?
SF: Yes.
Doesn’t the M2 kinda make the use of a Barrett moot?
What is the purpose of the Ho Step in the front?
This mount is literally on eBay right now for sale
Id loved to see a video like that but with civilian vehicles
It doesn't look mine or IED resistant?
Just remember kids when he cleared that 50cal riffle he still pointed it at the camera guy and camera men in any gun video gets barrel flashed all the time cuse camera guys never die, but this guy has designed this truck based off of his experiences of problems or issues and fixed it all
I really want one of those bumpers/brush guards.
One of the best looking humvees I have ever seen. Can't wait till I finally get mine from the auction. I am going for similar build.
Bro i just want a hmmwv where the brakes fucking work at this point
Somebody can make me a real Hummer truck
nice beast
Omg this made me horny.
This vehicle is a fucking apocalypse on four wheels
Good stuff!
Sick AF
“When you’re in country… it’s not hard to scrap up a few PKMs”
the ultimate in tacticool.
I need to update my Christmas list.
Where can I buy the rear doors and side rails? Awesome build
PMCS…
Guys in the Machine Gun world know the name Ramo. They pioneered taking parts kits and remanufacturing them way back in the 70's. M2 50's,1919's just to name a few. The owners Pony and Kay Maples. Members of that family started this company after Ramo was sold. Military Systems group is located in Nashville Tn. They can do some amazing Things. Many of the old Ramo employees most well into there 70s and 80s were true crafts men when it came to building guns. I am proud to know a few of them. The people behind the sceens of any company hardly ever get the credit they deserve. That company knows what matters and gets the best to do it.
I have seen MRAPs decked out like this…LOTs o Guns and a HUGE US Flag and a "Don't Tread on Me" Flag LOL. so cool. I dont like that there is no protection underneath the HMMV, pressure plate IEDs suck!
Name your company after a chinese food additive -Awesome Branding!
These video game designers need to bring Karl into the r&d process so they can make their games more realistic and actually parallel the techniques you would need on a real battlefield.
humvee, not hummer
Awesome Hummer but these are not used much anymore. MRAPS are the standard now – from what I saw being used in AFG 2018-2019 on my last deployment. These SpecOps Hummers are the best versions!
At 15:32… Man I love your passion! It’s like you’re looking down the scope for the first time. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Much Respect🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
The best thing about this vehicle… The men inside it!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 God Bless🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Much Respect guys! Much Respect
Это 25 мм вариация "Баретта"? Которая вроде XM108?
Hummer huh, ok
A 100 years HOLY
Retired Marine, here.
At what point after retirement do army special ops stop doing sit-ups? Damn! Too old to be “pregnant”!
Does anyone else think Karl reminds them of Norm Macdonald? Not exactly, but just some of his mannerism and way he speaks
I'll take 2
These guys should make an online configurator for their humvees, makes it easy for people to setup their humvees from home and see all the possibilities.
Man, I wish I could get back to a different job with the cool stuff again.
Jay and You
Hi
Great video . Thanks.
How much does it cost to buy one of these Humvees ?
From you.
That is including the guns and ammonutions on it as is .
Could you give a lumpsum price or an estimate with a breakdown for each gun on it ?
Await your reply . Bye.
Nice technical
WTF is a "wooder can?"
I miss my HMMWV
and put Trump at the head of this equipment, what a Fuk up !!
Shiiiiit. I thought I was forward thinking for mounting a 240 and saw as secondary and thirdary to my mk19 in Sadr city….this thing is sick nasty
There's two faces from my past. Great video! Spent alot of time on those GMVs, no doubt. They've come along way I see! I remember most fabrications were made by us SF guys down range back in the day, just being creative. Way to fine tune them for the customer! Good seeing you two again! Take care! Ahhhh the old retrofit combo. Adding ballistic windows and removing doors. Just paint that bitch woodland and you’re ready for 2003 again. Good Lord i miss the Army.
Any concern on the ammo rack being put under the passenger seats? I hear that occasionally Iraqi potholes explode.
Always loved riding in GMVs. Was a little annoyed when we got MATVs in Group, hated those fucking things in the 101 (except for running over IEDs…)
EDIT: Holy shit Chief Randy is a name I hadnt heard in years. Used to RSO on weekends at MCSO outside of Campbell and haze all the new baby 18Bs. He also unfucked me on my pistol shooting and gave me a love of CZ75s. Rawhide is a smart, crazy bastard.
I wouldn't put light weight material on my armor vehicle lol I want to keep my troops alive with a powerful engine that can move us anywhere no problem . I just think light weight material would bend to no repare .
Big Army wants to K N O W Y O U R L O C A T I O N
