Those kids moved more slowly than my kids going to do chores
I have practiced moving while shooting at a target with a laser simulation gun. It is not easy. I want to practice shooting at a moving target. Maybe I can get a buddy to carry a target…. laser that is.
you do usually say back off the cover unless you're using it to brace yourself, and at the beginning its blurry, but it looks like he's trying to brace himself until he takes a step to the right realizing he has to shoot around the kids
We practice against moving targets, shooting around no shoots targets, appearing and disappearing targets, targets obscured by moving no shoot targets and shooting while moving.
paintball is good traing for moving targets shooting back at you.
IDPA, USPSA, & Steel Challenges. Scored Expert in Basic.
i would not run towards someone aiming, a gun 'to protect' my children. officer or not.
she put her children at risk trying to flee danger.
I’d be a crap police officer, I would’ve screamed at those kids “you damn idiots!” And then there a toddler fit on the ground
It is easy to pick apart and judge actions from a computer and criticize, but to me this cop did the best he could have, the fact that kits rand from someone toward someone with a gun, shows that they did not .care if it was perfect but only that he was a good guy with a gun and in the right place at the right time to help
Go on a diet John
I'd like to try to rob you and see your response. lol… if only guns weren't lethal and it were safe. Would be cool to see your response if you got randomly jumped but y'know….
Muy difícil situación!
I haven't even shot a gun at a still target yet. But something tells me I'm gonna do good when I go to the range first time
I did alot of skeet shoot in my life. I know it's not quite the same as using a single projectile weapon on a moving target, but the same rule applies, leading the target.
Correct me if I'm wrong John, that would make me better at hitting a moving threat wouldn't it? That instinct to lead the target would kick in.
I do understand that a person moves alot slower than a clay bird so it's not leading so much as just moving with the target.
It was cute when he pointed the gun up close to his chest
he made sure the kids were under the gun where the bullets can’t go
I been in a few and alot of competitions that have used moving targets.
"HAHA YOU'RE LUCKY YOU'RE SHORT!"
The problem is most of the time. The police are train to stand still and shoot at static target at a range. A more realistic police training is to move from cover to cover and shoot behind cover.
I’ve shot at moving targets. I put a red-dot scope on a Browning Buckmaek Field way back in 1990. I could easily hit a soda can sized target on the move. John, you’re right about optics on handguns. It’s remarkably easy to keep that dot on target while the target is moving.
Jack rabbit hunting helps practice.
Officer DID NOT do the right thing.
He had NO concern for the children, firing while they were in his line of fire, and basically using them as a shield. I'll be dropping your Channel after hearing you praise his actions.
And by the way, I'm a Police Trainer for a 5,000 Officer Agency for 20 years now.
The lil ones covered their asp tambien.
Shooting at a moving target is eazy. Especially when your 15 20 feet away. Distance is your enemy
You can see a bullet hit the pillar behind the officer. Those are some lucky kids.
Yes I've definitely practiced shooting at moving targets. It's a lot of fun
Just skeet shooting. Does that count?
I heard a shootout once in broad daylight in downtown Mexico City. After the firing ceased I walked towards the site and saw a person who had been shot, laying under his motorcycle.
Kids or not , These two kids are literal NPCs , I have never seen someone that stupid before.
Really played with fire on that shot.
I've never shot at moving targets due to lack of infrastructure at my range to do so, but I do try shooting while actively moving to simulate this. A different skill, but better than nothing, IMO
Yes. I consistently hit running rabbits in the face with a 10/22 or a WASR. It has to be the face otherwise U ruin your stew meat.
My only moving targets so far has been, rabbits, squirrels, coyotes, quale, and deer + a dog or cat here and there, oh and VC.
I can estimate where a moving target will be so I can take a shot and hit the target.
Good bless all of the world
the trauma would be unreal
Robber runs in the middle of the street .
Stupid Kids : lets run parallel to him on side walk .
How in the actual fuck did they not get shot? They were directly between two people shooting at each other, one who was not looking at all where he is shooting.
I remember in the 90s I use to hear how México City was dangerous. Today Mexico City is actually a safe haven compared to many other parts of the country.
If I was the officer I would be scared to make a lateral step to the right. Imagine two people walking towards each other in a hallway and the little dance that happens because both parties try to move.
I’ve shoot a lot of moving targets before it wasn’t too hard just practice I’ve been shoot ppl in PUBG
I dunno bout the mother n kids, but my instinct after noticing a cop pointin a gun at someone somethin sort of in my direction, but clearly not me, I wouldnt run towards him, if they either stood still or turned around, robber wasnt intrested in people. Not that the cop did anythin bad, just wonderin what was goin on inside their head at the time
How would normal joe practice with moving targets if he doesn’t have access to a lateral tracked range? Lol fishing pole?
Jesus that’s straight out of that 90s Vice light gun arcade game lol you guys know exactly what I’m talking about
He should have waited a bit
