That was ugly man, hope they went to prison for years
Active self-protection should have something to do with protecting yourself, without having to unnecessarily go 25mph or drive 6 blocks out of your way. Road rage typically takes more than 1 minute to unfold and grow. Plenty of time to have your EDC out and ready.
As a Phoenix resident, I resolved many years ago to keep my sh*t together in the car no matter what. People carry guns here and many of them, based on how they drive, do not care about anyone's lives. There's really nothing that can happen in traffic that's worth getting shot over. If I screw up, then I accept that I screwed up and let the other person be mad about it. If they screwed up or even if they're just completely obnoxious for no reason, I choose to let them have their moment and get away from them ASAP. They are not my problem. I don't need to let the actions of some sentient specimen jar in a lifted Ram ruin the rest of my day. I'm only human… There will be a monologue in my car, often through my teeth, but no horns or middle fingers. I learn to shove that down and then play Grand Theft Auto when I get home.
I'm researching dash cams now because it seems like a smart thing to do. I have cameras on my house for deterrence and evidence and it only makes sense to extend that to my vehicle. I watched a bunch of dash cam videos and the common issue I see is that the cam owners usually instigate or escalate the road rage incidents or mistakes. It's not enough just to catch it on camera, but they also have to lay on the horn or pursue/yell at the other driver. A few cam owners like the person in this video have sense and avoid problems. Others escalate situations into road rage by laying on the horn and chastising the other drivers.
If someone makes a mistake and is confused, then blasting the horn will only stress them out and cause them to make even dumber decisions. If a person already did something rude and everyone knows they're wrong, then blasting the horn will just piss them off and put them on defense… Even if they're the one who cut you off or pulled in front of you, now they're mad at you.
From my own experience, I've been able to handle everything with just an in-car monologue that no one else hears. What has tested me, however, was someone blowing their horn at me. Once, I was at an ATM with my sun roof open. I was doing nothing wrong. I was grabbing my money out of the machine and doing nothing to delay the process. The person behind me honked and my middle finger reflexively shot up through the sun roof. I had a little lapse that day. Dumb idea… Another one was when I was waiting to turn right into a busy street from a parking lot. There was cross traffic. Some guy behind me in a Kia just laid on the horn and I wanted so badly to just run back there and beat the hell out of him. I saw red. Did nothing about it, of course, and maybe burst a blood vessel… It's the damn car horn. Someone honked at my wife at an intersection because the car stalled and she needed 5 extra seconds to restart it and get going. I wanted to jump out and beat that guy too. I think I managed that by eating a cheeseburger or something.
I guess the point of all of this is that the dash cam guy who just got out of there, he was right. It's harder to do that, but it's absolutely the right way forward. Also, I think car horns are what turn a lot of these incidents into full blown rage. That sound seems like it's hard wired to trigger fight or flight.
If the first one was reversed people would be screaming racism and hate crime and burning cities down.
Well that sucked. I was hoping for asphalt temperature challenge.
I think she would have the lawful justification to use a firearm. At the point she was being pulled out of the car, she could have articulated the fear of serious injury or death.
One first mistake the car in red made was parking into a spot where no escape is available.
Stopfollowing these idiots
Lock the car duh
Girl in the first clip looks like she spit on the other girl that's why they attacked
So ghetto. I hope they find peace in there heart to be better
Nowadays you definitely NEED to have a firearm smh cause watching these videos really proves that 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ cause people can be very unpredictable and if you gonna have a firearm, you definitely need to know EXACTLY HOW TO USE IT AND WHEN TO USE IT
The first one don't think that was road rage. It was personal, the women had a beef.
Second should have sat at light. Hooking was to let people know he was backing into intersection. Good job John from years ago.
N?
I carry my gun in my door
I think pretty much any of these people who would never be too brave without pistol,so if they are going to far for honking at them just head out
John i would have liked to hear a little more legal terms during the Aggregated Battery/Assault on the driver of the red Suv. also the fact that the male driver boxed the victims car in, so he is working in tandem with the 2 primary aggressors
dragged, not drugged.
2nd guy is smart. Understands a random stranger has no importance to him. Good shit dude
That is Flesherton Canada in the second video for anyone wondering.
Honking the horn is IMO a good idea, so other people become aware of it. I think road ragers do not like attention.
This lady definitely was not paying attention it was bad enough that she pulled into a parking spot with no way out but not to notice that somebody had stopped behind you in your rearview mirror and started getting out of her car and then she rolled the window down on top of that. All she had to do is throw that thing in reverse pin that one girl gets the car ran the other one over when she got out of the car slammed into the other car and gotten the hell out of there and made them pay for their stupid decisions
I hope those two girls get what they deserve
