There’s lot of talk about how popular Pistol Caliber Carbines have become. Some complain that it doesn’t have enough knock-down power. However, if size and weight are an issue, you can get great performance from a Pistol Caliber Carbine. That’s because the ammo is already designed for short “Pistol” barrel lengths. Running 5.56mm through the same short barrel length, and you just end up gettinga huge fireball, because half the gun powder still hasn’t lit yet when the bullet leaves the barrel. This also equates to the 5.56mm bullet not speeding up enough, resulting is basically hitting the target with the force of a 22LR.
Now, I’m not saying that the Pistol Caliber Carbines should replace adult rifles… not at all. However, if you have physical limitations, are small in stature & strength, or have others in your household that are; then the PPC might be a good Home Defense option for you.

Plus, they are a blast to shoot. Hope you enjoy the video.

Don't get a sub gun for home defense, unless you live in complex of old abandoned warehouses.

If a PDW is in a rifle caliber l, it has an advantage… if it's a pistol cartridge, it's at a disadvantage. At least military and SWAT have access to the REAL SMGs (full auto, burst fire), so they get the real benefits vs civilians.

Since you already spoke about size, how about caliber. 9mm or 5.7×28, which would be your pick?
Thanks for all your wonderful videos.

Used to use 11.5 " AR. Switched to PTR, MP5 clone w/ magpul D50 drum. Accurate, less blast indoors, easy to use!!!

1.) This dude likes saying β€œsub-gun”.

2.) The claimed reduced recoil factor is a falsity.

There is another reason you want a suppressor as opposed to ear plugs in a home invasion: You want to hear your intruders

I prefer the one that can create several hundred round holes into an intruder body in less than 5 mins.

I disagree with firing a 55.6 in a house for self defense. It goes though the bad guy, goes though drywall, and possibly someone else. 5.7 X 28 MAXIMUM.

FINALLY, a YouTube gun channel that breaks down and explains pistol caliber guns with suppressors. Others tend to stutter and say ah, um, and you question what the hell their talking about.

Lots of PCCs have tons more felt recoil than a properly gassed AR. If it’s a roller or radial delayed gun then it may be softer but blowback PCCs are brutal

Everything you said makes complete and total sense to me. I just finished a little 5.5" AR45 with some pretty good components, all usa anyway. Put a Romeo5 on it, the one that takes a AA battery and a olight pro with a green laser mounted on 45 degree, Breeks comp and flash can but I will suppress eventually and saving my pennies for surefire goodies. Took a little bit of playing with the buffer/spring and LRHO but man it's a machine now, Karl and boy howdy what a blast to shoot. Gotta tell you tho, first time that I sat down at my bench with it I blew a hole in my shooting bag haha but I got the hang of it pretty quick. Tore it all back down and alum-a-hyde'd it coyote and I love that little bastard. Another great vid Karl, thanks man.
