The dog knew..
I haven't answered my door, day or night, since 2002.
What pisses me off more about her idiotic decision is that she KNOWS she has a dog, and yet she's still so absent minded she just goes and opens the screen door.
People that just open their door like that, are also the ones that get scammed by all the calls from Indian scammers from the IRS, BEST BUY, SOCIAL SECURITY DEPARTMENT, Etc. Etc.
Its 2023 almost everyone on the planet will let you know they're coming. Therefore if you hear any noise at the door past like 9pm don't even check the ring just pretend that shit didn't happen. If they yell or knock a lot then you check the ring, if they look like they're fine, then again just pretend they're a ghost. This random ass lady would've knocked on my door for a good 15 minutes before I got on that ring and went "Dont want your book, my vents are clean, I've paid all revenue agencies, my car doesnt have a warranty, and I cut my own yard so knock all you want moron"
I had a woman knock on my sliding glass door one evening, asking to borrow my phone due to a disabled vehicle. I had my pistol on me, and went ahead and let her borrow my cellphone to make a call. Then her boyfriend rolled up and they proceeded to set up a drug deal, and would not let me have my phone back for 20 minutes as they chatted away on the call.
They never tried anything, they just hung on to my phone while clearly setting up a drug deal. She tried to walk away and I shadowed her outside while her boyfriend gave me the evil eye. They eventually gave me my phone back and left.
It was bizarre. They were about an inch away from being shot (I was on high alert once I knew what they were discussing on the phone) and I was probably an inch away from being robbed of my phone.
Weird, stupid, but true. Don't try to help people. If I had to guess, they were meth heads and high af.

I am handicapped and live alone, and one night a few years ago a man came to my door and tried to trick me into opening it, for a home invasion, I'm sure.
He tried saying his wife had a seizure, I offered to call 911.
He declined.
He offered me .money to let him park on the property for the night as they hadn't found a motel. I advised I wasn't one either.
He thought offering money would get me to open the door.
If he only knew, I had my 9 trained on the door the whole time.
He has no idea how lucky he was.
Women are just as bad as the men.
Talk thru the door as you dial 911.

When I answer my door at night, I'm armed.
We see so many of these home invasion scenarios with multiple armed attackers, yet you have people saying stuff like "Why would ANYONE ever need an AR-15"…. 😒
You can tell she set the whole thing up, because if it was just a random robbery they would have got her 4sure, plus she walked away instead of running for her life.
