hello everyone. i am from India !
it's a nightmare to get a gun here legally. it will cost you around 2000 dollars just to get a licence and a shitty revolver. and you would have to maintain a log with your local police station about how many bullets you have in your possession at any moment. so yeah, every shot you fire be it on a range or in a manner of self defence is counted for.
so as you might have guessed, very few people carry guns here. Those who do are mainly security personnel, lawyers, politicians and judges. 'self defence enthusiasts' are frowned upon and often labelled as 'goons' coz people that the guy is a hothead looking for trouble.
Sad thing is that the real bad guys don't have to go through this tedious procedure. they buy makeshift pistols which are mainly single shot but sometimes semi-auto. they go by the local name 'katta' and could be bought for as low as $50 from some shady neighborhood.
they are usually made in states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. they use any long metal tube they can to make em. their favourite material is steering wheels of some trucks as the 7.62*39 mm cartridge fits perfectly in them. karma happens sometimes when a poorly made katta bursts in the bad guy's hand. say goodbye to that hand😌.
