I always park super close to the ATMS and always have my doors locked. And I will not hesitate to take off or even run over the thief if I have to. My life or theirs and well……IDGAF about theirs.
In my town we don't go to ATMs at night. Guaranteed mugging.
Good advice: take out money in the daylight not at night especially by urself, same goes with putting gas or related things.
Don't use ATM's. If I need cash, I make a quick pit stop inside the bank during work hours. That's because I live in a deadly city in New York State where it seems everyone is on crack.

Why do people still squarely face ATMs or counters? Blade off to them so you have some peripheral vision. You've used an ATM before, you don't need to give it your full attention.
Think id up in the car and put it in reverse on the first one and put it in forward and reverse on the second one and maybe carried a gun on the third one

Refuse to use an ATM. Have my account closed/locked to the ATM. Yes, it's inconvenient, (I once went home to Brooklyn from Manhattan with only pocket change!)
this is why cash is dead. i never ever ever ever carry cash. that means i never have to go get cash, either. in my neighborhood in philly maybe it was 7 years ago two armored car (dudes) were murdered by an uzi-wielding nut job while they fiddled with the atm at my bank branch. It was about then i got heavy into online shopping.
First lady should have got in car, Left door open, placed vehicle in reverse and hit the gas… then the brake, place vehicle in drive and hit the gas. Repeat as necessary.
The ATM at my bank is in a locked glass space next to the bank entry door. The problem to me is that it is clear glass to see through, the screen to enter your bank info is large and faces out, putting your back, and your personal info on screen, for anyone outside to see.
I do not like being put in that vulnerable position. The few times I ever used that ATM I kept my info protected and my eyes looking for anyone that may be a threat.

I always plan my ATM visits days ahead, always go to the INSIDE ATM at my bank only, and always wait till I am the only one there, and CANCEL transaction immediately if ANYONE approaches even from a distance. No ATM inside? Write check for cash.
